Good morning church family,

First, we want to thank you for tuning in this past Sunday to our online gathering! As of this email, there were over 169 views! How amazing that God is taking this negative situation and using it for His good. Think of all those who were able to hear a message and be touched by the presence of the Holy Spirit across our state and country!

Secondly, we want you to know where we are as a church. Our office hours remain the same, as does The Lord’s Storehouse while complying with the CDC and Governor Brown’s orders so that we can keep the church running and moving forward. You can email the church at info@lebanonfirstassembly.com if you have any questions or need assistance in any way.

We will continue to pre-record and send out Sunday morning messages as well as make them available on the church’s website, Facebook and Instagram accounts. If you have not done so, please visit LFA’s Facebook account and click “like” AND Instagram account and click “follow” to continue to see what’s being sent out during the week. You can find them by searching for Lebanon First Assembly. For those not on any technology, we will continue to send out our updates, Mid-Week Moments and Sunday messages via USPS. To view, this week’s message click the video link at the bottom of this post.

Next Sunday, being the first Sunday of the month, is Palm Sunday and Missions Emphasis. We will be taking Communion together during the message. If you would like Communion elements, stop by the office this week during our office hours. We will be making available “TO GO” Communion elements. Simply come by the office to pick up what you need for you and your family.

Thank you for your faithfulness in giving as we continue to support our missionaries around the world. Thank you for your prayers and encouraging words, and thank you for staying connected as much as possible. We love you and are praying for you!

Blessings
Pastor Kevin Parker

Good Afternoon LFA Family,

Each day everyone continues to experience even more changes to daily life, but through all of the changes, one thing will never change. That God is with us! The real question to ask is, how can we be there for each other? It’s as simple as making a phone call, facetime/video call, send a text or a Facebook inbox message or share a sermon message video with family or friends. Small gestures carry great meaning in times of uncertainty.

To view our Mid-Week Moment video, click on the video below. You can also subscribe to the LFA YouTube channel to be notified when new content is released.

If you have a prayer need you can email pray@lebanonfirstassembly.com. For any other assistance, you can email info@lebanonfirstassembly.com.

Until next time,
Pastor Kevin

As we all begin this post-pandemic journey, I want to encourage and challenge you each week to look to our Father, who loves us and will always be there for us. Do not be overcome with fear but overcome fear with faith. When you feel fear creeping in, stop and take a moment to engage with the One who created you and let Him remind you of whose child you are. You are sons and daughters of the most high God!

As I share this message with you today, please feel free to email us any prayer needs or answers to prayer that you may have and we will be lifting your needs up. You can email them to pray@lebanonfirstassembly.com.

Blessings,

Pastor Kevin

Good evening LFA family,

Each week Pastor Kevin will work to have a “Mid-Week Moment” video for you as a way to touch base and keep you up to date on any changes and ministry opportunities you might need to know about and a simple word of encouragement as we walk through these changing times together. COVID-19 RESPONSE UPDATE (Wednesday, March 18, 2020)

When I shared my message two Sundays ago, “Stop Going To Church”, this was not quite what I had in mind. But as you know, things are changing quickly as our world deals with the Coronavirus pandemic. Lebanon First Assembly’s Pastor, staff, and Church Board are responding as quickly as possible to the guidelines being mandated by Governor Brown and recommendations being made by the government & Centers for Disease Control and Prevention [CDC].

Here is where we are as of today:
Due to the government directive of no more than 10 people in a gathering for the next four weeks, we can no longer hold services onsite during that timeframe. However, we will be recording Sunday messages and providing a link to you to view the message via email, church website and social media — more details on that will be coming, so be on the lookout for it. Also, we will maintain our regular church office hours during the week which enables us to serve our church family and our community. There are a few things to consider:

1) NEW APPOINTMENTS/DROP-BYS. Rather than dropping by LFA to talk with a staff member or to make a future appointment, please call instead. If we are able to meet your need through a phone or video call, that is ideal, all things considered. Our phone number is 541-259-1265.

2) SCHEDULED MEETINGS AND APPOINTMENTS. If you already have a meeting or appointment scheduled with a staff member in the next four weeks, please call to confirm that it is still happening, as further changes may need to be made.

3) GIVING OF TITHES/OFFERINGS. Many have asked how to give during this trying time and we wanted to respond to your requests. There are three ways you can give at LFA. 1. Drop it by the church office during regular office hours. 2. Put it in the mail and send it to Lebanon First Assembly PO Box 520 Lebanon, Oregon. 3. Give online. We have set up a secure link that is provided here and on our website for your convenience. Just click on the word “give” .

For any upcoming LFA events such as, Easter Sunday service, Women’s Brunch, Water Baptism/Orientation, Israel Trip Informational meeting, Spring Clean Up workday, 39 Forever Potluck Fellowship, etc., we will be rescheduling them for later dates.
This is a challenging time not only for our community, but for our state, our country, and the world. What an incredible opportunity we have to shine the light of Christ to those who are scared, anxious, hurting, and sick. We want to encourage you to look for ways to serve those around you, give as you can to those in need, and most importantly, pray — for healing, for our government officials, for the doctors and nurses working despite everything, for churches to be places of refuge and light, and for pastors as they navigate this unprecedented situation.
Thank you for being The Church! It is a privilege to serve together, even if from a distance during these times!

Pastor Kevin

Statement on Coronavirus (COVID-19)
Congregational Update – March 13, 2020

Dear Lebanon First Assembly Attendees and Guests:

With the heightened awareness and public concerns regarding the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) as well as the ongoing seasonal flu virus and common cold, we want to assure you that public health and safety concerns are our highest priority. At Lebanon First Assembly and Lord’s Storehouse facility, we are very intentional about providing clean, sanitary, and safe environments for people to meet and worship God. We have enhanced our cleaning procedures. This includes a comprehensive cleaning of all restrooms and various touch points (doorknobs, handles, water faucets, handrails, etc.). The children’s classrooms and toys will be disinfected after each service by cleaning staff and volunteers.

While we realize no public environment is 100% safe, we take every precaution and safety measure possible and will continue to update our custodial staff in regard to proper cleaning standards and sanitation.

We encourage you to wash your hands or sanitize frequently and to refrain from simple actions such as shaking hands. Also, if you or your children are ill, please stay home. You can order a CD or DVD of the service by calling the church office during the week and we will have it available for pick up.

At this time our church office and the Lord’s Storehouse will remain open during regularly scheduled business hours. After prayer and conversations with our church board, giving consideration to recent developments within the community of Lebanon regarding the COVID 19, we have decided to suspend our Sunday services and mid-week large group gatherings for this upcoming week. Small Group gatherings will continue at this time. While we do not walk in fear, we do carry a responsibility for the safety of those the Lord has entrusted to us. Keep in mind that this is a constantly changing event and schedules might need to change. Moving forward we will be communicating via the church website, email and social media as to what is happening here on campus on a week to week basis. Those who are affected by this virus are in our prayers. If you need prayer or to communicate with us during the week, you can email us at info@lebanonfirstassembly.com or call us at 541-259-1265.

I think we must acknowledge that our response matters, especially as the church. When trouble comes, “what we do next determines what we believe about God” (Henry Blackaby). It is our trust in the mighty power of God that shines like a light in the darkness when all hell breaks loose.

This verse comes to mind: Philippians 4:4-7

“4 Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. 5 Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; 6 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

As Christians, we should be reasonable. Why? Because the Lord is at hand. Want another reason why? It’s simply because God says we can trade in our anxiety and fear for peace if we would come to Him in prayer and supplication. In any and all situations, we have the King of Kings and Lord of Lords with us and ready to guard our hearts.

Two viruses are breaking out. One is COVID-19. The other is fear. I know which one is more powerful, spreads faster and causes everlasting harm.

This isn’t a license to point at those who are generally and sincerely afraid, it’s an opportunity to pray for them. Erase your social media posts if they don’t encourage and calm. Jesus calmed the storm, He never came to make it worse. Lebanon First Assembly, be sensitive. Be compassionate. Be Christ-like.

Do not submit to fear. Submit to Jesus. He is with you.

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” ~ 2 Timothy 1:7

Ask God to give you His Spirit today, ask Him to drive out fear and to transform you into a conduit of peace. May His Spirit flow through you as you pray for this world, our people, and our communities. Oh, Spirit of God, may we only submit to the perfect love of Jesus.

Don’t just wash your hands, but also fold them in prayer.

Don’t just guard yourself against germs, but let the Father guard your heart against fear.

Don’t just protect your mouth from what goes in, but keep an attentive ear to what comes out.

Do the right things to stay safe, but do even more to stay close to Christ.

Where we live needs us now, in these moments of trouble. Shine.

Thank you,
Lebanon First Assembly Pastor Kevin Parker and Church Board
